Premier League leaders Liverpool will hope to move a step closer to winning the title when they host Southampton on Saturday.
The Reds currently sit 13 points clear at the top of the table and are expected to cruise to a comfortable victory against the Saints, who sit bottom of the standings.
Manager Arne Slot is enjoying a fine debut season on Merseyside and could still win three trophies this term.
However, it appears that the Reds have been handed a boost with one of their transfer targets likely to leave his current club this summer.
Liverpool Target Kingsley Coman Set to Leave Bayern Munich
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is intent on leaving the German giants at the end of the current campaign.
Plettenberg claims that Liverpool have enquired about the French winger, who is under contract until the summer of 2027.
Despite Liverpool’s interest, it is also claimed that the 28-year-old is intent on a move to the lucrative Saudi Arabian Pro League.
Bayern would reportedly be looking for a transfer fee in the region of £25-35 million for Coman this summer, with the Bavarian giants willing to allow him to leave if their financial demands are met.
Impressive Career Statistics and Trophy Collection
The France international joined Bayern on loan from Italian side Juventus in 2015 before making the switch permanent two years later. Throughout his time in Germany, Coman has established himself as a world-class attacking talent.
His career highlights with Bayern Munich include:
- 69 goals across all competitions
- 66 assists in 327 matches
- 8 Bundesliga titles with Bayern
- A Champions League winner’s medal
In total, Coman has amassed an impressive 28 trophies during his senior club career, including:
- 8 Bundesliga titles (Bayern Munich)
- 2 Serie A titles (Juventus)
- 2 Ligue 1 titles (PSG)
Last season was actually the first campaign since 2011/12 that Coman did not lift a domestic top-flight title, highlighting his remarkable consistency at the elite level of European football.
The winger has started just 11 Bundesliga games this season as he competes for playing time with the likes of Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane in Vincent Kompany’s side. This limited game time may be contributing to his desire for a new challenge.
For Liverpool, acquiring a player of Coman’s experience and winning mentality could provide valuable depth and quality to their attacking options as they look to maintain their Premier League dominance under Arne Slot’s leadership.
